9 year old Georgie Sanders has been playing in the Under 10's girls for Bucks and the team have played their way into the final. They have beaten Surrey, Berkshire and Oxfordshire whilst on route to the semi finals. This weekend (25th February) the team travelled to Kent and won 4 rubbers to 2. This now means that they play Middlesex or Sussex in the final on 18th March at Aldershot Tennis Centre. Georgie has been a part of Milton Keynes based Cavill Academy since January 2006 and currently trains for 9 and a half hours a week under the supervision of academy coach John Cavill. John said, "She has come a long way in a short time, as she only started playing tennis on one of the Tennis Works Summer Camps in 2005! She is naturally a born competitor and is totally in love with tennis. As she continues to develop a strong technical base, we should be seeing more great results from Georgie but she is still very young and has got loads to learn. I am very please for her and the rest of the Bucks team and hopefully they will go on to win the competition." Georgie is one of 8 players in the Cavill Academy, which now has 4 players competing and training for the county. All the players are aged between 8 and 12 and train for 7 to 12 hours a week. As the years go on and the under 8's start to come through, there will be many more players from the Cavill Academy representing the county at different age groups. Released: 27 February 2007
