This September sees the launch of MK Ace Tennis, an innovative and exciting tennis initiative. MK Ace Tennis will be the ONLY tennis club in Buckinghamshire that does not require the users to be members. This inclusive and welcoming environment will benefit tennis, local sport and the community as a whole. ‘Tigers Den’ - The Main Venue The initial phase of the project will consist of redeveloping 4 floodlit hard courts located on the Milton Keynes Academy site, Leadenhall, Milton Keynes (formerly Sir Frank Markham Community School). Quite fittingly we have named the home of MK Ace Tennis the ‘Tigers Den’. The refurbishment will result in the Academy and local community being able to access local ‘Pay and Play’ tennis, junior and adult coaching, competitions, events and wheelchair tennis. The courts are due to be refurbished in October, but to keep up to date please check the website. Other satellite venues will be used during after school hours, including Shenley Brook End School and The Hazeley School. There will also be an extensive schools programme, with coaches going into many local schools to deliver curriculum and after school coaching. www.mkace.com – The new website In September, not only are we launching the brand new www.tennisworks.co.uk website but also the new MK Ace website www.mkace.com. This will be a source of information and news about the initiative and how you can get involved, including the online court booking system, coaching, events and loads more. Tennis Works supports MK Ace Tennis Works is a support service to clubs, players and coaches.
