As Tennis Works positions themselves as a support to clubs, players and coaches, the coaching in Milton Keynes needs to be separated, so that Tennis Works can support MK Ace like they do to other clubs. The club was originally called The Community Tennis Club and was established in 2002 to access funding for local tennis. All staff who have been delivering the Milton Keynes coaching, including John Cavill and Simon Tomlinson, will continue so there will be no change to the quality of the coaching and coaches that have built a strong reputation. There will be 2 new coaches joining the team, Luke Bedford and Leonard Burns, who will further strengthen the club and the coaching team. This Community-Rich Club has an Exciting Future The club has an exciting development plan that will be followed over the next few years. The initial phase of the project will consist of redeveloping 4 floodlit hard courts located in Leadenhall, Milton Keynes. The refurbishment will result in the local community being able to access local ‘Pay and Play’ tennis, junior and adult coaching, competitions, events and wheelchair tennis. The courts are due to be refurbished in the next few months, but to keep up to date please check the website. The coaches have been delivering coaching in Milton Keynes schools over the past few years and last year John Cavill delivered 10 hours a week curriculum coaching through the Schools Sports Partnership. The results of this coaching has further increased the base of tennis players in Milton Keynes, which will continue grow for years to come.
