Spain Defeats Czech Republic PDF Print E-mail

Davis Cup 2009 FinalSpain has defeated Czech Republic 3-0 in the final of the 2009 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas in Barcelona. Spain becomes the first nation to successfully defend the Davis Cup title since Sweden in 1998. Spain has also won eight successive Davis Cup ties for the first time in its history.

The remaining two rubbers will be played on Sunday 6 December, with both matches the best-of-three sets. Play starts at 12:00 local time (11:00 GMT).

Live scoring for the final is available on the Davis Cup website throughout the weekend, along with live audio commentary, game-by-game text commentary, in addition to match reports, audio interviews, blogs, photos and scorecards.

Davis Cup by BNP Paribas is the largest annual international team competition in sport with 128 nations entered in 2009. The title sponsor is BNP Paribas, the Official Bank of Davis Cup.
