Spain has defeated Czech Republic 3-0 in the final of the 2009 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas in Barcelona. Spain becomes the first nation to successfully defend the Davis Cup title since Sweden in 1998. Spain has also won eight successive Davis Cup ties for the first time in its history.

The remaining two rubbers will be played on Sunday 6 December, with both matches the best-of-three sets. Play starts at 12:00 local time (11:00 GMT).
